Tyler Perry is gearing up for the release of his first animated feature, “Madea’s Tough Love.” The movie will release straight-to-DVD via Lionsgate on January 13, 2015 and be available on Video On Demand on January 20, 2015.
Perry’s first foray into animation features the characters voiced by Cassi
Davis, Rolonda Watts,
Avery Kidd Waddell, Bootsy Collins and Cree Summer.
The film and TV mogul will also voice the characters of Madea and Uncle Joe,
among others in the movie.
“Madea’s Tough Love” is a story by Ben Chambers, screenplay
by Matt Fleckenstein, supervising director is Frank
Marino and produced for Tyler Perry Studios by Perry, Ozzie
Areu and Matt Moore.
A description of the film reads: “After a hilarious run-in with the law
Madea is sentenced to community service. Determined to do good for the ’hood,
Madea enlists Aunt Bam and Uncle Joe to try and save the Moms Mabley Youth
Center from being shut down. With her irresistible sass and wisdom, Madea
rallies the local kids to make a stand—and proves that behind her tough
exterior is a whole lot of love!”
