The 45-year-old Hollywood mogul and his longtime girlfriend, model Gelila Bekele, had a son named Aman Tyler Perry in New York City. Perry has been particularly private about having his first child, but
spoke to “Entertainment Tonight” about it at a gala his best bud Oprah Winfrey hosted called “Selma: The Legends Who Paved the Way” over the weekend.
“It was the most amazing thing. I was there, I cut the cord, I was in
the room, I was helping her breath. I can’t even describe it,” Perry
told the news magazine show. “It’s really fresh. I’m here for about 18
hours then I’m right back to New York because I can’t wait to see him.”
Perry told Steve Harvey during an appearance on his syndicated talk show that he had desires of being a parent earlier this year.
In September, during a private birthday bash at his California home,
the playwright made mention of him expecting a child during remarks.
