RAPPER JA RULE GETS SAVED THROUGH FAITH BASED FILM

Hip-hop veteran Ja Rule has been a whirlwind promotional tour promoting his new movie, “I’m in Love With a Church Girl.”

The rap star confessed in a recent interview with the New York Daily
News that he recently found Christ as a result of being involved with
the film.

“I actually just got saved,” he confessed to the paper.

The “Church Girl,” which has Rule starring opposite Adrienne Bailon,
the 37-year-old rapper plays the character Miles Montego, a retired
criminal trying to make good with God at the encouragement of his
girlfriend, Vanessa Leon.

“When I read the script, I saw the similarities between myself and
Miles, and I really felt that this might be a good vehicle for me,” the
rapper explained.

The New York-bred rap star, who has been on his own road to
redemption after serving a prison sentence for attempted illegal gun
possession and tax evasion, hopes the film reaches a crowd outside of
the church.

“That’s the beauty of the movie, we’re going to touch people who do
not come from a church background, and it brings a certain level of cool
to it,” he said.

Despite him giving his life to Christ, Rule isn’t abandoning his hip-hop roots. The rapper said don’t expect him to start recording sacred sounds.

“I don’t want people to get confused,” he joked. “I’m not going to be putting out a gospel album.”
