Following the release of her new single titled- Forever, PraiseCamp had the privilege and honor of chatting with the anointed worship artist. Toluwanimee is one of UK’s A-List Gospel Act. And believe me when I say — A-List. Read the interview after the cut.
Please tell us about yourself?
I am Toluwanimee (Ibiso Eleoramo), I am a Nigerian Gospel Artist based in London UK. Worship is what ive been equipped and graced to do. I enjoy spending time with the father and downloading songs from heavens archives. I am married to my best friend Mr. Teniola Eleoramo and we have 3 lovely kids. I am very interested in the spiritual , mental and physical health of an individual , I follow a career in Cancer research , spurred by my first degree as a biomedical scientist.
When and why did you start singing?
I started singing in the children’s choir in family church, Redeemed Christian Church when I was 9 years old.
When & were you called into the music ministry?
The call has always been visible right from way back, and people would always point me to it when I ministered from children to teenage and finally adult choir, but as I grew it became more and more evident.
Who would you like to work with in the future?
In the future, I’d love to work with Darlene Zschech, Kim Burell.
Do you play any musical instruments?
My instrument is my voice , I do not have the skill of playing a musical instrument but my talented husband does , learned how to play the keyboard on his own when he was 5 years old.
In some years to come, would you have any regrets about your choice of becoming a Gospel artiste?
No only fulfillment cause its my purpose.
How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?
Wisdom and more wisdom, some times one has to give way for the other but wisdom and understanding from the parties involved solves the puzzle.
Who are your main influences as far as singers (local & foreign) are concerned?
CeCe Winans, Karen Clark Sheard, Yolanda Adams, Israel Houghton, Kim Burell and many others.
When you are not in the studio recording or performing live, what can a person find you doing?
In the laboratory, spending time with my kids, at the cinema.
How did you hear about PraiseCamp?
Online, through a friend on Facebook.
In a few words, describe your upcoming project?
I would use the same phrase I used for a worship concert I hosted in 2013 , “NOT JUST A SONG“ but rephrase it a little “NOT JUST WORSHIP” my up coming project is a dual project a worship album and one representing my roots (Africa) but its not just worship but an encounter, that would leave a hunger for more of Him.
