All is set this December as The Consortium, in conjunction with Fresh
Impressions, hosts Rhyme and Reason in Nigeria’s commercial capital –
Lagos. This unique and widely anticipated concert is the first ever Rap
and Spoken Word concert in Nigeria, and it would be a great event to
usher in the Christmas festivities.
Rhyme and Reason is the final event in a Rap and Spoken Word tour
that would commence in South Africa as ‘The Celebration of One’, and
culminate in Lagos, Nigeria as one of the largest youth concerts of its
kind.
The concert features renowned rap artiste and Grammy award nominee,
Da T.RU.T.H., as well as P4CM’s Ezekiel and Janette…ikz who are creative
geniuses and two of the world’s biggest Spoken Word artists, with a
huge worldwide following, and Soul singer Lilly Million from South
Africa. The concert will also feature the award winning artists, Rooftop
MCs, Provabs, Atilola, Kruseaphix and Titilayo. Cool FM’s DJ Mordu will
man the wheels of steel.
This high energy concert will take place at Land Mark Event Centre,
Water Corporation Road, off Ligali Ayorinde, Victoria Island, Lagos on
the 14th of December by 5.00 p.m.
Spoken Word is a very powerful performance-based poetry that focuses
on the aesthetics of word play and story-telling. It is often used in
conjunction with other art forms, such as music, theatre, and dance, and
has been an outlet for people, especially youths, to creatively express
their views, emotions or life experiences. In Nigeria, Spoken Word is
an emerging art-form, which is gaining strong grounds and attracting an
ardent following, especially among the youths.
We look forward to seeing you at the concert, and with a few days to
the show, we are working nonstop to ensure the concert is a blast. This
is something you don’t want to miss, as The Consortium assures you this
year’s concert is one that would go down in history.
