Awipi teams up with dynamic vocalist King David and record label boss – Mama Tee for the remake of ”Elonga”.
Elonga means “Jesus, You’re the winner man.” It is a song that was first performed by the Benson Idahosa University Choir in 2009. The song talks about Christ’s victory and how Jesus is the winner man in every situation.
According to Awipi, “Elonga was a song I heard while I was preparing for a ‘Take the Lead’ concert with Benson Idahosa University. It was done by Benedicte Muad Kashama, from Congo. I heard her singing the song and loved it. We talked about the song and I asked if she would be okay with us using it for the upcoming recording.
It is a very inspiring song that shows the power of believing and the power that we can live the victorious life as long as we have Jesus. Whatever way we experience life situations, we always come on top because we, through Jesus, continue to be victorious.
Jesus is the winner man, Elonga!
